Rush Gymnasium

Rush Gymnasium was added in 1965 when construction of offices off Alumni Gymnasium were added. The facility that now hosts men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball is named for Frank "Speedy" Rush a track star from the class of 1909, who was also a long-time trustee. During the 2009-10 men’s basketball season the Tigers hosted Southern Methodist University marking the first time a Division I school played against an Occidental College team at home. In 2008 the gym got a face-lift with a fresh coat of paint, new floors and new bleachers making the venue one of the finest in the SCIAC.
