Baseball Is Off to a Hot Start

The only thing stopping the Occidental baseball team so far this season is a rainout.  The Tigers' doubleheader with La Sierra, originally scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 11, was moved to Sunday, March 4 at 12;00pm.

Occidental (3-0) hosts Cal State-San Marcos Feb. 14 at 2pm at Anderson Field and opens SCIAC play Friday, February 16 against Caltech, back in the league after a five-year hiatus.   The first pitch is scheduled for 2:30pm at Anderson Field.   The Tigers travel to Caltech Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 11am.

The Tigers scored an impressive 5-4 comeback victory over San Diego Christian College, from the highly competitive GSAC conference, Wednesday Feb. 7 at Stars Field in El Cajon.

Jayson Williams '07 pitched six solid innings, allowing three earned runs on eight hits.  Marcus Stoiber '09 went the final three innings and picked up his second win of the season.   Andy Crocker '07 hit an RBI single to plate Spencer Woolwine '09 with the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning.   Catcher Adam Franks '08 went 4 for 5 with an RBI double in the first inning
