Strankman Named All-Star Manager

GREEN BAY, Wisc. (July 9, 2007) - Discipline breeds confidence. Throw in dedication, passion, and a little west coast swagger and you have Oxy baseball head coach Elliott Strankman. As head coach of the Northwoods League's Green Bay Bullfrogs this summer, Strankman has snapped streaks and made history. All the hard work hasn't gone unnoticed.
Strankman has been named manager of the South Division All-Star Squad in this week's NWL All-Star Game. He was the logical choice as the Bullfrogs recently clinched a spot in the NWL playoffs by dominating play in the first half of the season, including setting a new all-time NWL record for consecutive wins with a commanding 15 victories in a row. Among those victories was the first NWL game to be broadcast on ESPN.
"It's been a great experience so far," Strankman says.
"It's going to be an interesting second half, considering that we
have already clinched a playoff spot. My goal -- our goal -- is to
win the whole thing."
The NWL All-Star Game is this Wednesday, July 11 at 7:05
p.m. CDT in Mankato, MN. The game will be broadcast live on
ESPN360.com and will be re-aired twice on ESPNU -- at 12:30 a.m.
CDT on July 12 and 8 p.m. CDT on July 13.
