Ball Travelling East to Play Summer Baseball
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 23, 2008) – Occidental College right fielder Geoff Ball is packing his bags and heading East for the summer. Ball, a sophomore outfielder and left handed pitcher will travel to Niagra Falls, NY to play in the highly competitive New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) as a member of the expansion Niagra Power.

Strankman Hangs Up Cleats, Resigns As Head Coach
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 21, 2008) – Following a successful three year career as the Head Baseball Coach, during a four year stint at Occidental College, Elliott Strankman has resigned from his position to focus on other opportunities in baseball beginning with his second season in the Northwoods League as the Field Manager of the Green Bay Bullfrogs.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 14, 2008) – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference office announced today that three Occidental College Tigers, Glenn Gray, Matthew Jones and Adam Franks, were named to the 2008 Second Team All-SCIAC.

Perfect Finish: Three Combine for No-Hitter while Seniors Enjoy Final Career Game
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 2, 2008) – Many things happened today on Anderson Field that anyone involved will not soon forget. The offensive explosion that began on Friday afternoon in Pasadena carried over to Anderson Field today in the final Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference double-header of the 2008 season. On top of that three Oxy pitchers combined for a no-hitter and one senior played all nine positions in nine innings.

Today’s game did not need an extra frame, but the outcome was the same, a walk-off win in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. The Tigers tamed the University of La Verne Leopards, claiming a 5-4 victory.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 14, 2008) – Each spring five SCIAC schools join together to host the California Classic, a 13 team tournament. In day one Wesleyan University (CT) defeated Occidental College 12-4 and 12-11 at Anderson Field in the first of three days of play.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 11, 2008) – Teamwork, confidence and the will to win came into play today as the Tigers of Occidental College defeated # 21 Ithaca College 14-10 on Anderson Field today. The teams combined for 24 runs on 29 hits in a battle of the bats.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 2, 2008) – Occidental College exploded for 23 runs as they earned a pair of wins today over the University of La Sierra at Anderson Field. All of the Tiger position players saw playing time as they took 11-2 and 12-9 victories over the Golden Eagles in non-SCIAC play.

(March 1, 2008) – In his first collegiate start Alex Bukac connected for a two-run homerun and in game two of the day the leftie was 3-3 with three runs, but the Tigers dropped a pair, 11-3 and 9-5, to defending Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion Pomona-Pitzer at Anderson Field today.

(Feb. 26, 2008) – In what proved to be a historic day at Anderson Field Occidental College defeated the University of Redlands 9-2 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action, marking the first time the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs during Head Coach Elliott Strankman’s tenure.
