Baseball Upgrades Facilities

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2007) – Since taking over the Occidental baseball program in 2006 Elliott Strankman has made improvements both on and off the field.
Rebuilding is never easy, but strong work ethic and support for alumni has aided the Tigers’ baseball program in upgrading facilities for the student-athletes, while the team continues to rebuild on the field.
Since 2007 numerous dollars have been raised and spent on upgrades to Anderson Field and Spencer Fieldhouse. Some of the improvements that have taken place include a new backstop and new fencing down the line, with a plethora of renovations to the clubhouse and locker room. Most recently, office space in the clubhouse was transformed into a state-of-the art fitness center with free weights and resistance machines for the players to use.
Occidental now boasts one of the top Division III facilities in the country.
Many donors and other Oxy alumni will have an opportunity to see the changes when the Tigers’ host the annual Alumni Game on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.
