LOS ANGELES — Eamon McNeil was an easy choice for SCIAC Player of the Week honors after a ridiculously explosive weekend at the plate to keep Oxy's SCIAC Tournament hopes alive.
The junior outfielder from Portland, Ore. was 7 for 13 with four home runs, 10 RBIs and seven runs scored in a three-game series with Pomona-Pitzer. He homered in every game of the series as Oxy went 2-1, remaining in the playoff mix with three regular season games left on the schedule.
In Oxy's wins, he went a combined 5 for 9 with three home runs and nine RBIs.
McNeil's homer in Game 3 of the series came during a five-run ninth that helped Oxy squeak out an impressive comeback victory.
Oxy faces Chapman in a three-game series this weekend with complicated playoff implications in the balance. If they win all three, they are likely in. If they win one, they are likely out. If they win two, they need things to go their way around the conference.
Game 1 is at Chapman on Friday at 3 p.m.Follow Oxy Athletics on Twitter Sign Up for Newsletters Watch on Youtube Follow us on Instagram
