LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 5, 2008) -The Occidental College football program hosted their annual end-of-the year banquet tonight. As players, coaches, families and fans reflected on the past season, awards were announced.

Groh Named 2007 Gilburg Award Division III Punter of the Year
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Dec. 18, 2007) Occidental College punter Alex Groh has been named the 2007 recipient of the Gilburg Award as the outstanding punter in Division III.

WACO, Texas (Dec. 8, 2007) Announced today, Alex Groh, earned a spot on the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All American team after punting his way to the top of the Division III rankings in 2007.

Former Oxy Quarterback Collins Signs with LA Avengers
Los Angeles, Calif. (Nov. 30, 2007) Occidentals three-time Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year (2004, 05, 06) Andy Collins signed a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League on Thursday.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 28, 2007) Fourteen Occidental football players earned post season recognition as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released the 2007 All Conference teams today.

Tigers Provide Homecoming Crowd with Exciting Overtime Win
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2007) - Regulation wasnt quite enough time for the Tigers and the Panthers today on D.W. Patterson Field. Occidental gave the alumnae an exciting finish to the 2007 Homecoming game after rallying back from 7-0 and 14-7 deficits to send the game into overtime.

By the Skin of their Teeth, Tigers Win SCIAC Opener, Extend Win-Streak to 29
CLAREMONT, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2007) Two weeks worth of practices and preparation came down to a 45-yard field goal attempt off the foot of the opposition with 13 seconds on the clock. Although on target, the pigskin sailed just 43 yards, putting the ball back in the hands of the Tigers who held on for a 28-27 victory being tipped by senior James Sabo, in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener tonight at Fritz B. Burns Stadium on the campus of CMS.

Second Straight Shutout for Tigers Football
ATHERTON, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2007) - It had not happened in 12 years, but for the second time in two weeks the Tigers shut-out their opponent. Occidental got on the board early and often, taking a 21-0 halftime lead en route to a 38-0 final against non-conference Menlo College at Conner Field. Todays victory marks the 28th consecutive regular season win for the Tigers, dating back to the 2004 season.

PORTLAND, Ore. (Sept. 8, 2007) If there were early season jitters among the Tigers football squad, they were not apparent as Occidental College shutout the Pioneers of Lewis & Clark College 52-0 at Fred Griswold Stadium in Portland, Ore. on Saturday.

Tigers Football Team Back on the Prowl
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2007) Occidental College football players have enjoyed their summers but now it is back to work as the Tigers are just a week away from their season opener. The eighty-six man squad stepped foot on Patterson Field in mid-August with the goal of earning a fourth consecutive championship in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
