Tigers Traveling to Oregon for Round 1 at Willamette

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 16, 2008) – The brackets are out. Plane tickets are purchased and bags are packed. The stage is set. Announced today on ESPNews Occidental College (9-0) will meet Willamette University (10-0) in the first round of the 2008 Division III Playoffs on the road to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl.
Although the Bearcats are ranked first in the West region and the Tigers second, the NCAA has paired the two teams based on geographic proximity. Even with one of the toughest brackets in the post season, the Tigers are ready for the challenge.
The teams will meet at McCulloch Stadium in Salem, OR on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 12:00 p.m. (PST).
The second round will see the winner of the Willamette-Occidental game matched up with the victor of the first round game between defending national champion the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (9-1) and St. John's University, Minn. (8-2). The Second Round (of 16 teams) will be played on Saturday, Nov. 29, at a site yet to be determined.
