Tigers Take Three-Way over Chapman, La Sierra

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (March 7, 2008) – The Occidental Tigers defeated Chapman University (321) and La Sierra University (325) at the General Old Golf Course today as they combined for a 307, marking their best score in over five years.

Tiger sophomore Rich Highsmith led all players shooting a 72. Chris Nelson, Aaron Steinberg and Tori Leon rounded out the Oxy scoring with 76, 78 and 81, respectively.

Also competing for the Tigers today were Tom Logan and Alex Safransky.

Earlier this season the Tigers defeated the Golden Eagles (325-329) while losing to the Panthers (325-323) as the same three teams met to open play in 2008.

Occidental will be back on the course Monday when they meet the other SCIAC schools at Red Hill Country Club for the SCIAC # 2 match.
