Golfers Swing to Sixth Place Finish at SCIAC # 3
LA VERNE, Calif. (March 24, 2008) – The Occidental College golf team combined for a 317 to place them sixth today at the third Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference of the season.
Oxy sophomore Richard Highsmith led the way for the Tigers today with a 75, which tied him for 11th place among all players. Fellow classmate Alex Safransky was four strokes behind with a 79.
Freshman Nick Schradle shot an 81 for the Tigers and Tom Logan rounded out the scoring players with an 82.
Tori Leon also played today, scoring an 83.
The University of La Verne took the top spot with a 294 followed closely by the University of Redlands (297) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (300).
All seven SCIAC teams will meet again on the course April 14 when the Tigers host the SCIAC # 4 match at Brookside Golf Course.
