Tigers Take Sixth at SCIAC # 4
GLENDALE, Calif. (April 14, 2008) – Occidental College took sixth place as the host of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference golf outing # 4 on the season.
Oxy looked to the senior-sophomore duo of Chris Nelson and Alex Safransky who each shot a 77 at the event. These two Tigers tied for 14th overall. Nelson shot at 35 on the front nine today and recorded three birdies.
Next in line for the black and orange were Richard Highsmith (79) and Aaron Steinberg (83) who also contributed to the team score. Highsmith finished the day with 11 pars.
Also playing for Oxy were Nick Schradle (89) and Tom Logan (92).
La Verne was the top team finisher with a 294 followed by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and the University of Redlands with 301 and 205, respectively.
The Tigers will travel to Thousand Oaks, Calif. on April 24 to compete with the SCIAC again at Sterling Hills as their final tune-up before SCIAC Championships.
