About the Program
Blessed with year-round playing conditions, Occidental has fielded talented golf teams for more than 70 years. The Tigers have won numerous conference championships and most recently won the conference tournament title in 1998.
Occidental competes at the NCAA Division III level in the highly competitive Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, which last year, SCIAC boasted three of the country’s top 20 Division III teams. Occidental has produced a number of outstanding golfers, including All-Conference selections Adam Day ’00 and Brent Peterson '06. Oxy’s best known golfer is probably PGA Tour member Olin Browne ’81, who garnered national media attention with a fast start at the 2005 U.S. Open.
Home for the Tigers is the challenging Annandale Golf Club in nearby Pasadena. The Tigers also routinely practice and play on a variety of other local courses, both public and private.
