Sasich Earns SCIAC Athlete of the Week Honors

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan 23, 2008) – Oxy forward Joe Sasich was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for her performance on the court between Jan. 14-20, 2008.

Sasich shot 70% from the field (14-for-20) as he led the Tigers to a 2-0 week on the court. He averaged 16.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game and added six assists, four steals and a block.

Against Caltech on Wed. Jan. 16 Sasich scored 14 points on 8-for-12 shooting with six boards, four assist and four steals.

Saturday against Redlands he recorded a double-double, scoring a season high 17 points with 10 rebounds. Sasich was 6-for-8 from the field and grabbed five offensive rebounds.

The senior has started the last three games for the Tigers (12-2, 2-1 SCIAC), recording double figures in scoring in all of those contests.
