LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 12, 2008) For the third time this season senior guard Connor Whitman has been selected as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for his performance during the week of March 3-9. He capped off his collegiate career averaging 19.0 points per game with a remarkable 9.0 assist/turnover ratio as the Tigers advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Mens Basketball Tournament.
SPOKANE, Wash. (March 8, 2008) Before 1,600 fans at the Whitworth Fieldhouse tonight the Pirates handed the # 25 Tigers an 83-75 loss, ending their season, during the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Mens Basketball Tournament.
SPOKANE, Wash. (March 7, 2008) A late night charged with excitement generated by a come-from-behind 52-51 victory at Rush Gymnasium turned into an early morning full of anticipation and travel for the # 25 Occidental College mens basketball team. The Tigers used their 22nd victory of the 2007-08 season to punch a ticket to the NCAA Division III Second Round, which will take place on Saturday, March, 8 in Spokane, Wash. at Whitworth University.

They all tore through Rush Gymnasium tonight where there was more at stake on the court than would meet the eye by looking at the match up. With Occidental College hosting Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Pomona-Pitzer it may have appeared as just another SCIAC game. In reality, it was not. In round one of the NCAA Division III Post Season Tournament the Tigers erased a 15 point deficit en route to a 52-51 victory at home, earning a ticket to Washington for the second round of play.

(Feb. 29, 2008) From the fans to the court Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Occidental College fought a tough battle tonight in the semi-final game of the first ever SCIAC Post-Season Mens Basketball Tournament. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the Stags stormed into Rush Gymnasium in the second half with a hot offense and tough defense en route to a 66-62 come-from-behind upset win.
LA VERNE, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2008) In his final regular season Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game Connor Whitman played all 40 minutes using a 27-point performance to lead the Tigers to a 67-57 victory over the University of La Verne, clinching their second consecutive SCIAC Championship.

(Feb. 20, 2008) March Madness arrived early for those involved in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference basketball tonight at Rush Gymnasium as # 22 Occidental College and # 28 California Lutheran University entered the night with identical 19-3, 9-2 SCIAC records in a battle for sole possession of first place. The outcome was a repeat of their Jan. 26 meeting in Thousand Oaks, Calif. as the Tigers took a 67-63 victory home along with the top conference spot entering the final two SCIAC games of the season.

Any way you look at it, tonight crowd at Rush Gymnasium saw Occidentals team focused, with the common goal of winning. In a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps the # 20 Tigers reversed the results from the season opener by defeating the Stags 59-41
