Walsh Scores Two in Win

LOS ANGELES — Sophomore midfielder Liam Walsh lead the men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Cal Lutheran Saturday night. The Washington, D.C. native had two goals.

"It was a little bit of relief when we got the first one," Walsh said after the game. Occidental had 19 shots on net and 12 of those came in the second half. "We had dominated the chances," Walsh said. Junior forward Tod Kawada also added a goal at the 76th minute, his third of the season.

"Hopefully we've found our stride a little bit," Head Coach Rod Lafaurie said after the game. Recent losses to Chapman and La Verne made this a great win for the Tigers as they continue conference play.

Walsh added, "the team energy was great." Coming from the bench all the way onto the field. Everyone was loud. That contributed to a great game overall," he said. "We've got to keep this momentum going."

Occidental will look to earn another conference victory against Redlands this Monday at home.
