Tigers Crush Whittier 5-0

LOS ANGELESGrayson Burdon scored a pair of goals as the Occidental men's soccer team's offense erupted in a 5-0 win at Whittier on Monday night.

The Tigers win their third game out of their last four, including a 3-1 win over No. 11 Redlands last week. Oxy has outscored its opponents 12-3 in its last four SCIAC games.

The Tigers improve to 4-5-1 overall and 3-4 in SCIAC play. Whittier falls to 2-7 and 1-6.

Burdon scored the first two goals of the game, one in the first half and the other to open the second, on assists by Tod Kawada and Elijah Remy

Kawada finished with two assists.

After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, Burdon, Morgan Bennett-Smith, Matthew Labrie and Ryan Wilson all found the net, turning the game into a blowout in the second half.

Oxy goalkeeper Dante Amodeo made six saves.

The Tigers are back in action against Caltech on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Jack Kemp Stadium.
