REDLANDS — Liam Walsh continued his incredible offensive streak with three goals at Redlands on Saturday.
But, despite the conference's leading scorer going off for a hat-trick, the Tigers couldn't beat the Bulldogs on the road, falling 4-3 on Saturday.
The Tigers surrender a game to Redlands in the standings, falling into second place prior to the 7 p.m. start times around the SCIAC. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sits at 7-2 in third place, playing against Pomona-Pitzer Saturday night.
Walsh scored the game's first goal in the 4th minute, put Oxy up 2-1 with a score in the 18th minute, and desperately tried to get the Tigers back into the game with his final goal in the 86th minute.
Arman Mogharei had two goals for Redlands, and Anthony Chong and Collin ChubbFertal both scored one goal.
Walsh, a senior captain and economics major from Washington, D.C., has scored seven goals in his last four games. He leads the SCIAC with 10 goals and 23 points, and is up to 12 total goals on the season.
In 71 career games, Walsh has scored 26 goals and recorded 11 assists.
Season Impact: The Tigers fall to 10-4 overall and 8-3 in SCIAC play.
Redlands improves to 10-3 and 8-2.
Next Game: Oxy is back in action on against Chapman (5-5 SCIAC) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Jack Kemp Stadium.
