Men’s Tennis Finishes Fifth at SCIAC Tournament
CLAREMONT, Calif. (April 19, 2008) – Occidental College used a 7-2 win over Whittier College at the 2008 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament to capture a fifth place finish and a fourth place standing in the conference. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, the SCIAC champions, hosted the two-day event.

CLAREMONT, Calif. (April 18, 008) – Without their # 1 player, the Tigers traveled to the 2008 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Occidental entered the weekend as the fourth ranked team, but fell to # 5 Pomona-Pitzer 5-3 in Round One. Oxy rebounded with a 9-0 win over Caltech in the afternoon.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 29, 2008) – Proving they could do it once again, the Occidental College men’s tennis team extended their winning streak to five straight matches. Sweeping doubles action, the Tigers won the conference match 6-3 against Pomona Pitzer.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 24, 2008) – For the third straight match the Occidental College men’s tennis team posted a victory. This time, the Tigers defeated the Lewis & Clark Pioneers by a 5-2 margin at the McKinnon Family Tennis Center.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (March 25, 2008) – Occidental College men’s tennis continued their winning ways today with an 8-1 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at home in their final non-conference match of the season.

POMONA, Calif. (Mar. 1, 2008) – While the Tigers found a pair of victories in singles play on the road against the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos, the Tigers fell 7-2 in non-conference action.
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (Feb. 9, 2008) – Occidental men’s tennis dropped their first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match of the season at the hands of the California Lutheran University Kingsmen by an 8-1 margin.
FULLERTON, Calif. (Feb. 2, 2008) – Occidental men’s tennis took on Hope University for the first time this season. Putting up a fight in a losing effort, the Tiger’s took three of the nine matches.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 31, 2008) – Oxy men’s tennis is under the new leadership of Alberto Martin, who has already seen a lot of progress with his team, which is compiled of a dozen players. The senior leadership from Daniel Ikuta, Vince Karlen and Rozelle Hodges and a trio of juniors will be significant for the younger Tigers (five sophomores and one freshman).
