Sweet Farewell for Senior Five in Season Home Finale

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2008) – In only their third home game of the entire 2008 season, five Occidental College Tigers bid farewell to the pool they have called home for four years. The ending was sweet for the quintet as each scored at least one goal and had either a steal or an assist if not both in the 26-4 victory over Caltech.

In very limited action senior Andrew Valdes scored three goals as classmate Sean Inoue netted a pair in his only two attempts while Abiel Garcia, John Wensman and Cameron Brahmst each scored once. The seniors also combined for six steals and six assists as Brahmst drew a pair of ejections as well.

The young Tigers got in on the offense as well, with Richard Dybass leading all players scoring five goals. Freshman Brendan Whitmore and Tai McDermott recorded two and one goals, respectively. McDermott added four assists while Whitmore finished with two drawn ejections.

Each of the remaining Tigers who played in the field also added at least one score. Blair Bergsteinsson had a goal to go along with his game-high five steals and four blocks in goal (one half) with an assist. Austen Oliver had a game-high six assists, notching a goal in his only shot.
