    Seven men’s water polo players earn All-Academic, as entire team is recognized LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 21, 2010) – Seven members of the men’s water polo team were named to the 2009 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team, which was released today. Additionally the entire team was honored for its work in the classroom, accumulating a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 during the fall season.

(Nov. 14, 2009) – At the 2009 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament the men’s water polo team came away with a 1-2 record for the weekend after defeating the University of La Verne 13-9 despite losses to Pomona-Pitzer (11-4) and Cal Lutheran University (14-8) to wrap up the season.

(Nov. 7, 2009) – After a tough road loss to the University of Redlands on Wednesday afternoon, the Tigers returned home to Occidental College where they faced off with the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference leading Whittier College Poets. Oxy fell 19-11 on the road to the Bulldogs and came up short 14-8 against WC this morning.

(Oct. 31, 2009) – Early in the morning Occidental College led Cal Lutheran University in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference water polo action, but a 5-1 second quarter let the Kingsmen to a two-goal half-time lead that they would not relinquish, handing the Tigers a 15-13 loss at Taylor Pool.

Unfortunately for Occidental, Chapman University got the most of the black and orange, sending Oxy home with a 13-6 loss.

(Oct. 10, 2009) – For the second time in as many games at Taylor Pool, the Occidental College men’s water polo dominated its opponent, winning today by a score of 18-5 over the visiting Camels from Connecticut College. Six different players scored at least two goals in the non-conference match-up.

    Occidental splits on final day of Claremont Convergence CLAREMONT, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2009) – It was déjà vu for the Occidental College men’s water polo team today as they won the opening game of the day, falling in the second. The Tigers opened up play on Saturday with a 14-7 victory over Washington & Jefferson at Pomona-Pitzer’s Haldeman Pool before Division I Air Force tore past the Tigers 14-4 leaving Oxy at 2-2 on the weekend.

(Oct. 2, 2009) – The Tigers exploded for 16 goals in the first of two games at the 2009 Claremont Convergence Tournament. Occidental College defeated Penn Satte –Behrend 16-5, but fell to Fresno Pacific 15-6 in the final game of day one.

(Sept. 13, 2009) – It was an unusual situation as you looked into the pool during the final game of the 2009 Inland Empire Tournament as two starters were sitting on the bench and three goalies were in the pool, two as position players. Even with this awkward line-up Occidental pulled off a 7-6 victory over conference rival, and host, La Verne after falling to another conference foe in Whittier College by a 12-6 margin earlier in` the day.

(Sept. 12, 2009) – The season opened against a familiar foe as Occidental College faced off with the University of Redlands, in a non-conference match-up, to plunge into the 2009 season. After a tough 12-9 loss at the claws of the Bulldogs, the Tigers fell to the University of the Pacific 19-4 in day one of the two-day Inland Empire Tournament.

    Polo players ready to plunge into 2009 season LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2009) – With more than half their roster returning to the pool from a year ago, and only two seniors, the 2009 Tigers intend to use youth to their advantage as they enter the season. In 2008 Occidental finished the season with 16 victories, the most in the last decade, and posted a 7-3 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) mark, finishing fourth.
