Tigers Win Big Over Rio Hondo

WHITTIERJasper Lee scored six goals, including five in the first quarter, as the Occidental men's water polo team improved to 3-0 with a 25-8 win at Rio Hondo on Wednesday.

Oxy opened the season with wins over Chaffey College and Santa Monica College last weekend.

Every Tiger that got in the pool scored. Joseph Cox had four goals, Jason Teng added three, Elijah Havens, Cian Concannon, Luke Boyer and Nicolas Lipari each scored two, and Alex Marlott, Walter Sandbloom, Hayden Comerford and Alexander Zim added one.

From the Coach: "It's great for us to get rolling like this early in the year, but we know that everything has to be better before conference play starts," Oxy head coach Jack Stabenfeldt said. "The guys are growing and learning to play together. I'm excited to get them back in the water for our next game."

Season Impact: The Tigers are off to a hot start to the season, currently sitting at 3-0.

Next Game: Oxy is back in action on Sept. 19, hosting Pomona-Pitzer in its SCIAC and home opener at Taylor Pool at 4 p.m.
