Occidental athletes honored by SCIAC

Tigers finish sixth at SCIAC Championships
CLAREMONT, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2009) – At the 2009 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament the men’s water polo team came away with a 1-2 record for the weekend after defeating the University of La Verne 13-9 despite losses to Pomona-Pitzer (11-4) and Cal Lutheran University (14-8) to wrap up the season.

Pair of tough losses for Tigers entering SCIAC Tournament
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2009) – After a tough road loss to the University of Redlands on Wednesday afternoon, the Tigers returned home to Occidental College where they faced off with the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference leading Whittier College Poets. Oxy fell 19-11 on the road to the Bulldogs and came up short 14-8 against WC this morning.

Tigers fall in tight SCIAC battle in the pool
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2009) – Early in the morning Occidental College led Cal Lutheran University in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference water polo action, but a 5-1 second quarter let the Kingsmen to a two-goal half-time lead that they would not relinquish, handing the Tigers a 15-13 loss at Taylor Pool.

Tigers take down Leos
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2009) – The men’s water polo team got back to its winning ways today in the friendly confines of Taylor Pool with a 12-9 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over the Leopards from the University of La Verne.

Tigers come up short against Pomona-Pitzer
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2009) – After a lopsided first half in which the Sagehems outscored the Tigers 12-5 in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action, Occidental College came back to pull the game close in the final two quarters of play, falling in the end 15-13.
