Tigers Take to the Trail at UC Riverside Invitational


RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2008) – Against the likes of Division I and NAIA opponents, the Occidental College men’s cross country program faired well at the 2008 UC-Riverside Invitational this morning.

A men’s team that finished sixth was led again by freshman Eric Kleinsasser who led all SCIAC competitors in the 8K with a 14th place finish in a time of 25:13.4. Next across the line for the Tigers was senior Keith Blumenfeld at 25:44.8 followed by senior Clay Hoadley (26:13.3) and David Martinez (26:47.4).

Rounding out the scoring for Oxy were junior Victor Kali (27:04.9) and freshmen Sebi Delvin-Foltz and Will Hollingsworth who finished in times of 27:23.1 and 27:29.7, respectively.

Also running for the Tigers today were Will Moseley, Thomas Cahuzac, Matthew Wong, Jaycee Melendez , Chris Norman and Goro Hasegawa.

Occidental will take to the course again on Saturday, Oct. 18 when they participate in their first SCIAC competition of the season. Teams will meet at La Mirada Park at 9:00 a.m. to run.
