Tigers Complete Season at Nationals

HANOVER, IN (Nov. 22, 2008) – A week after traveling to Salem, Ore. to compete in the West Regionals, three Tiger harriers boarded a plane to Hanover, IN to run at the Division III National Championships.
The two seniors, Keith Blumenfeld and Clay Hoadley left it all on the course while freshman Eric Kleinsasser experienced his first collegiate national meet.
Blumenfeld was the top finisher for Occidental as he placed 70th among the 278-man field. His 8K time of 25:22.52 was four seconds faster than his West Regional time, again setting a personal best at his final collegiate meet.
Also finishing strong in black and orange was Hoadley who pulled up in 25:49.68 to cap off his collegiate career.
In his first NCAA championship appearance Kleinsasser struggled a bit, crossing the line in 25:47.89.
Cortland State claimed the 2008 team title as they averaged 24:53.98.
