Kleinsasser Named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2009) – Announced this morning by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, sophomore Tiger Eric Kleinsasser has been named the Male Athlete of the Week for the period between Oct. 12-18, 2009.

The Glendale, Calif. native remained undefeated in SCIAC cross country meets in his career as he won the 2009 Multi-Dual meet by more than eight seconds. Kleinsasser completed the 8K La Mirada Park course in 26:18.06, which was 8.7 seconds ahead of his next closest competition.

Last season Kleinsasser earned SCIAC Runner of the Year recognition after winning both the Multi-Duals and SCIAC Championship races and the win marks his second victory this year after finishing in the top spot at the Redlands Invite to open the season.
