Running his way to All-American status

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Nov. 21, 2009) – The top 35 finishers at the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships earn the honor of calling themselves All-Americans. Occidental College sophomore Eric Kleinsasser fell in that group on Saturday morning in a race hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College at the Highland Park Golf Course.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 19, 2009) – For the second time in as many years Eric Kleinsasser is taking a trip to the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships to compete against the best runners in the country.

Photo Finish: Kleinsasser takes second in West Region, men place eighth
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2009) – He led for more than 25 minutes and 26 seconds, but in the end, Occidental College sophomore Eric Kleinsasser was out stepped in what turned into a photo finish at the West Regional cross country meet hosted by Pomona-Pitzer this morning. The 2009 SCIAC Runner of the Year placed second, just 1 hundredths of a second behind the winner as the men’s team placed eighth in the 16 team field.

Kleinsasser Takes Home Runner of the Year Honors
CHINO, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2009) – Sophomore Eric Kleinasser took home his third individual win of the season. This time the win also staked his claim as the top runner in the SCIAC, earning him Runner of the Year for the second consecutive season. Kleinasser stepped it up in his final SCIAC meet, improving his time by almost a full minute from his Multi Dual mark.

Women’s Cross Country Enters SCIAC Championships Nationally Ranked
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2009) – The Oxy cross country teams will compete in the SCIAC Championships this Saturday at Prado Park. For the first time this season, the women have garnered national recognition, as they enter Saturday ranked 30th in the country.
