On a brisk Friday night and with the sidelines packed with fans the Occidental Rugby Blackshirts defeated rival Loyola-Marymount 35 -11 to win the Doherty Cup for the first time in a decade.

The Blackshirts dominated their first regular season test of the season, winning a convincing 45 – 0 match against a much improved APU side.
This weekend the Blackshirts, joined by Oxy rugby alums Victor Lopez and Phil Guerrero went to the 28th annual Northern Arizona 10s Tournament in Flagstaff, AZ.
