Occidental opened a tough stretch of ten games in nine days with a pair of losses to Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham (NJ) Mar. 11 at Bell Field.  The Tigers overall record fell to 1-17 while FDU-Florham started its season 2-0.

Occidental trailed 2-1 before FDU-Florham broke through with five runs in the fifth and eleven in the sixth. The Tigers committed two costly errors in the fifth but also turned a double play on a line drive to third baseman Alyssa Smith '10.

FDU-Florham rapped eight hits and drew five walks in the eleven-run sixth inning.  Kelly Nover went four for six with three runs batted in and Amy Beideman went three for three with five RBI's.  Katelyn Smith pitched all six innings, scattering three hits while striking out five. 

Alyssa Escalante '10 scored the Tigers' only run in the second inning on a RBI single by Smith. 

Occidental collected six hits in game two but left three runners on base in the first three innings.  Beideman went four for five with four runs batted in. 

Julie Hartnett pitched all six innings, striking out four and walking none.  

Alice Bauer '10 went two for three in the leadoff spot and doubled to lead off the sixth inning.  Kelli Moriguchi '08 struck out the side in the first inning.
