Track and Field Hall of Fame to Induct Two

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2009) – At the end of this month Occidental College track and field athletes and alumni alike will gather at the Annual Tiger Track Alumni Association Awards Banquet in the Johnson Student Center to recognize the accomplishments of the currents and past Oxy student-athletes.

On Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m. all will gather to witness the Hall of Fame induction of Konstantine Kindreich '93 and Marisa Omori '03. 

Kindreich was a two time All-American in the 1500m and a Cross Country All-American. He currently ranks second on both Occidental all-time lists in the 1500m (3:46.67) and 5000m (14:26.30) events.

Omori  was the school record holder in the pole vault between 2000-07 at 11’8”. Her success earned her recognition as a three time SCIAC Champion, All-American and two-time Academic All-American.

During the event men's and women's track & field and cross country athletes will also be recognized for their accomplishments in 2008.
