2010 Oxy Invite Results
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 8, 2010) - Information for the 2010 Oxy Invite are now available, complete with heats and flights as well as check-in, facility information and more.
With athletes competing today from all over the region - from Alaska to Hawaii and everywhere in between - a variety of skill levels were on display all day long.
A number of reigning and former Olympians and World Record holders were present today while athletes and teams from Division I, II, III and NAIA institutions used the event as a last chance qualifier for their respective National Championships.
Among the highlights of the day were reigning Olympic (Beijing, China) decathlon gold medalist Bryan Clay who competed as part of team Nike in both the shot put and 110 meter Hurdles. In his first hurdle race of the outdoor season, Clay set a personal best of 13.64 with a -0.3 headwind. Also setting a personal best in that race was Dominique DeGrammont, who ran for Haiti, with a time of 13.44 .
In the women’s 400 meter dash Lashinda Demus, the current third fastest 400m runner in the nation and fifth fastest in the world and multi-time Olympic medalist, won with a time of 51.56.
