All-American Ending: Brown Finishes Career Among Nations Best

HOLLAND, Mich. (March 22, 2009) – As the 2009 women’s basketball season came to a close with the National Championships in Holland, Mich., d3hoops.com has announced the 12th Annual Division III All-American team. Occidental senior forward Brianne Brown was named to the Third Team.
Being honored as an All-American caps off a successful two-year career at Oxy, in which she earned two conference Player of the Year Awards, a pair of All-West Region selections and led the Tigers to back-to-back Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles.
Brown was recognized as one of the Top-25 players in the country as she finished her senior campaign with 13.0 points per game after shooting 43.6% from the field on 125-for-287 shooting. She added a 37.4 three-point field goal percentage, sinking 43 of 115 attempts. At the free-throw line Brown was 70-for-96 (72.9%).
She also grabbed 5.6 rebounds per game. Overall Brown came down with 53 offensive boards, while grabbing 105 defensive. She posted a team-high 19 blocks for the Tigers as well. Brown was second on the team with 72 steals and third with 60 assists.
