Leon takes top spot at Bulldog Invitational

BEAUMONT, Calif. (March 28, 2010) – The 2010 Bulldog Invitational hosted by the University of Redlands brought together golfers from all over the region at the East Valley Golf Club’s Champions Course. Occidental was once again well represented as Tori Leon earned another first place finish in 2010.

Another consistent weekend of golfing for Leon paid off. The individual champion shot an 87 on Saturday and followed with an 88 during two windy days of competition. Individual results can be found here.

Leon was followed by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps’ Lauren Buchanan and the University of Redlands’ Tracy Saracino who shot combined 183 and 185, respectively.

CMS took home the team title with an overall 785 followed by the host Bulldogs (804). The University of Calgary (AB) (840) and Whitman College (WA) (865) rounded out the team scoring.

Four of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools that sponsor women’s golf will reconvene on Monday at Brookside Country Club in Pasadena, Calif. to play the first conference match of the season. Golfers will tee off beginning at 1:00 p.m.
