WAIKALOA, Hawaii — Occidental women's golfer Kristin Oberiano finished Round 3 strong despite windy conditions on Tuesday, taking third place overall against NCAA Division II Competition.
The senior from Guam, who has been named All-SCIAC in each of her three seasons on top of winning the conference's Freshman of the Year Award, had rounds of 7-over 77, 75 and 80 for a three-round score of 232.
Oberiano's individual standout performance comes one day after the Tigers set a program record for an 18-hole score, shooting 325 in Round 1 at the Dennis Rose Invitational on Monday. Oberiano, Rocha, Uchiyama and Hana Mizuno were Oxy's four scorers.
The Tigers competed against scholarship schools Cal St. Monterey Bay, Hawaii-Hilo, Hawaii Pacific, St. Martin's and Concordia (OR).
Cal St. Monterey Bay and Hawaii-Hilo tied for first. Saint Martins Jennifer Leides was the low medalist at 225.
