Oxy Wins Big Over Chapman

LOS ANGELES -- Ciara Byrne went off as the Occidental women's lacrosse team cruised past Chapman, 16-4 at Jack Kemp Stadium on Wednesday.

Byrne led the Oxy offense with five goals, Lauren DiLella chipped in four, Alessandra Pelliccia had two goals and an assist, and Mia Jones, Anna Calloway-Jones and Madisyn Hallare had one goal. Sierra Slack and Elizabeth Andrews each scored one goal and had one assist. 

Oxy dominated the draw 14-7 and was quicker to the ball with 31 grounds balls to Chapman's 17.

Pelliccia, Slack and Hallare all had four draw controls.

Oxy's defense was outstanding all game. Slack, Elizabeth Andrews, Corinne Bates and Emma Barrow each had two caused turnovers.

Season Impact: Oxy improves to 9-5, 5-2 in SCIAC and clinches a spot in the four-team SCIAC Tournament. 

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action on Saturday against Pomona-Pitzer at 6 p.m.
