Byrne Named SCIAC POW

LOS ANGELES - Ciara Byrne was named SCIAC player of the week on Monday after a repeated offensive flurry.

Oxy won two home games this week, moving to 6-2 in conference play this season. The Tigers beat Chapman 16-4 on Wednesday and routed Pomona-Pitzer 16-11 on Saturday.

The senior captain scored six goals in each game. She the SCIAC's leader with 37 goals on the season and is second in total points to teammate Sierra Slack

"Great work by Ciara as her play all over the field - goals, transition, ground balls, defense — and her leadership was instrumental in our two critical wins versus Chapman and Pomona - I couldn't be more excited for her as she's playing her best lacrosse right now as a senior captain" said Oxy Head Coach, Steph Mark.

Oxy is seeded second in the conference with two games left in the regular season and has clinched a spot in the SCIAC tournament.

The Tigers will be back in action on Wednesday at Redlands.
