Slack Named SCIAC Player of the Week For Third Time

LOS ANGELESSierra Slack keeps getting recognition for her outstanding senior season.

The attacker from Vorhees, N.J. had another big week, scoring 12 goals with four assists in wins over Redlands and Whittier last week. Oxy secured the No. 2 seed and a home playoff game in the four-team SCIAC Tournament, along with tying its best regular season conference record in program history at 8-2.

Slack earns the distinction from the SCIAC for a conference and Oxy program best third time this season. She is leading the SCIAC in points and during the Whittier game passed Tori Larson on Oxy's all-time goals list.

"Sierra's big offensive production in the last week of the regular season helped the team tie its best SCIAC record and she also broke the Oxy career goals record now with 202," Oxy head coach Stephanie Mark said. "I couldn't be more proud of our senior captain for her hard work."

Oxy will host Pomona-Pitzer in the SCIAC semifinal at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
