Soccer Shutout for Second Time

FULLERTON, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2008) – For the second time in as many games the women’s soccer team was unable to score on NAIA opponents. Today’s 1-0 loss came at the hands of Hope International University.

Carly Wachi took two shots and Jesi Sasaki took one as the Tigers were limited in scoring opportunities.

In front of the cage, Robin Feldman played all 90 minutes of action for Oxy, allowing one goal while recording eight saves.

Hope was led by Allyson Hinkle who scored on both of her shot attempts for all of the HIU offense of the game. Goalie Kayla Gabler recorded one save.

Occidental falls to 0-2 while Hope improved to 5-0 on the young season.

The Tigers return to the friendly confines of the Lower Soccer Field to open up Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action against Whittier College on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 4:00 p.m.
