Kang Named to All-West Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Dec. 11, 2008) – Marci Kang rounded out her junior season by being named to the Third Team All-West Region, which was announced today by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and adidas.

After landing on the First Team All-SCIAC for her defensive play during the 2008 season, Kang added AER honors to her repertoire. During the 2008 season she started all 13 games she appeared in and scored one goal on just five shots (three on goal). Throughout the season Kang was a defensive threat as her presence on the field was a challenge for the opposition.

The Honolulu, Hawaii native was the sole Tiger to earn regional recognition, joining 12 other SCIAC athletes from the University of Redlands, Claremont-Mudd Scripps, Cal Lutheran University and Pomona-Pitzer.

Overall Oxy finished the season 6-9 with a 5-7 SCIAC mark, placing sixth.
