Oxy Ties at CLU, Tied For First

THOUSAND OAKS — The Occidental women's soccer team kept up its outstanding defense and earned another point in the SCIAC standings with a 0-0 tie at Cal Lutheran on Saturday.

Oxy has not allowed a goal in its last six games dating back to Sept. 14. The Tigers have only allowed a pair of goals all season and one in nine SCIAC games.

The Tigers are currently tied with Pomona-Pitzer for first place in the SCIAC standings with 19 points.

Oxy is getting used to playing longer than 90 minutes with its fifth overtime game of the season against the Regals. 

First Match: Oxy and Cal Lutheran played to a 0-0 tie in the first meeting between the teams this season.

Season Impact: Oxy's record is now 6-0-4 overall and 5-0-4 in SCIAC.

Oxy has five SCIAC matches remaining on its schedule against Whittier, Redlands, Chapman, Caltech and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Cal Lutheran goes to 5-2-4 overall and 4-2-3 in SCIAC.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Whittier at Jack Kemp Stadium.
