Women's Swimming and Diving

Training at Occidental is built around quality speed work with an eye toward maintaining core strength and general fitness. The swimmers train twice each day - once doing dry-land circuits or weights and once in the water (all except the distance men and women who swim twice a day). Practices are scheduled around the student's ability to get to practice so as not to interfere with the rigorous academic demands of a high quality education. Likewise, the vast majority of our meets are scheduled on Saturdays

to minimize the loss of class time. At Occidental College, the swimming and diving programs are inclusive. The men and women train together, have meets together and are very supportive of one another.

A substantial amount of time and thought is put into the refinement of individual skills. We believe that Occidental swimmers and divers are some of the most technically proficient athletes around. A great deal of planning goes into the structure of each practice as well as the entire season. We want you to get the most out of your time at Occidental College. You will work hard, but you will reap the benefits of that work like no other place. A great opportunity awaits you here!
