Tigers Tennis Rolls to Third Straight Win

PASADENA, Calif. (Feb.15, 2008) – The Tigers continued their winning ways with a 9-0 victory over Caltech in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action today on the road.

Isabelle Ying and Lauren Harris combined to win the number one doubles spot by an 8-1 margin while Taylor Kaplan and Kisa Ito won at the number two spot by the same score.

Kaplan again cruised to a singles victory, winning 6-0, 6-0. Ito turned in a solid performance on her own as well, going 6-1, 6-0. In her first collegiate tennis competition Colleen Robins was successful, winning 6-0, 6-2 while Marissa Cassman (6-3, 6-1) and Jennifer Wahba (6-4, 6-0) rounded out the Tiger scoring.

Oxy earned a pair of wins by default, one in doubles and one in singles.

Occidental is now 3-0 on the young season with SCIAC competition heating up over the next few weeks.

Oxy returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 16 when they host SCIAC rival Redlands at 9:30 a.m. at the Burbank Tennis Center.
