Tigers Pick Up Back to Back Wins

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (Mar. 22, 2009) – After winning in less then ideal conditions this weekend, sunny Southern California lived up to its name, as in picturesque conditions the Tigers picked up their second win in as many chances. Oxy was never threatened as they cruised to a 9-0 win over visiting Pacific Lutheran University.
The Tigers closest match came in the doubles opener as Marissa Cassman / Taylor Kaplan knocked off the Lutes number one doubles team 8-6. After that, Oxy cruised to two more wins and headed into the singles dual matches with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
Kris Subbiah started singles by easily disposing of the top singles player 6-2, 6-2. The Tigers never let up, as Katrina Gould and Frances Hutton combined to sweep their opponents by a combined game score of 24-1.
Oxy (5-8) will look to stretch that win streak to three as they host UC Santa Cruz at home on Thursday, March 26th, at 2:30pm.
