LOS ANGELES — Krishnaveni Subbiah (Beaverton, Ore.) beat the No. 15 ranked player in the nation in No. 1 singles, but the Occidental College women’s tennis team lost its first SCIAC match of the season to No. 26 Redlands 8-1 at Scholl Canyon on Friday, ending its three-match winning streak.

LOS ANGELES — Krishnaveni Subbiah (Beaverton, Ore.) and Rachel Buckner (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) kept their undefeated streak at No. 1 doubles alive, improving to 9-0 on the season, and the Occidental College women’s tennis team moved to better than .500 for the second time this year with a definitive 8-1 victory over Pacific Lutheran at Scholl Canyon on Wednesday.

LOS ANGELES— Two days after the Occidental men’s tennis team upset No. 24 Brandeis University, the Oxy women, in the first of five matches this season against ITA Top 30 teams, came up short in their attempt to knock off the No. 30 Brandeis women’s team on Wednesday, 9-0.

OXY SPRING SCHEDULES ANNOUNCED
LOS ANGELES —The Occidental spring sports teams announced their 2012 preseason and SCIAC schedules this past week. Baseball, women's water polo, women's lacrosse, softball, and the men's and women's tennis, track and field, and golf teams all face competitive non-conference opponents before commencing SCIAC regular season play.
