ORANGE -- Nicole Pelletier won her singles and doubles matches, leading the Occidental women's tennis team to a win at Chapman, 5-4 in the team's regular season finale on Friday.
Pelletier, a sophomore from Farmingdale, Maine, beat Brenda Saloma at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-2, and also teamed up with Anya Silverman-Stoloff for a win over Danielle Simmons and Julie Williamson at No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
It's the Tigers first road win of the season.
Oxy took four singles matches and one doubles to edge the Panthers.
"We battled today against Chapman," Oxy head coach Ghia Godfree said. "We've been focusing on consistency and varying our shots this season which paid off in singles."
Maxine Krygier beat Nicole Fouts at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3, Nicole Castro took down Jaye Orikasa at No. 3, 6-2, 6-0, and Lexi Banbury beat Simmons at No. 5 singles, 7-6, 6-4, rounding out Oxy's victories.
Season Impact: Oxy improves to 4-11 overall and 2-5 in SCIAC play.
