Ramon & Bartlett Compete at Nationals
OSHKOSH, Wisc. (May 26, 2007) - Alex Ramon '08 and Kera Bartlett '09 landed All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships Friday, May 25 at J.J. Keller Field in OshKosh, Wisconsin.
Ramon placed third in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:01.63, just four-tenths of a second behind his school record of 9:01.23, the fastest time in Division III entering the race. Chris Erichsen of St. John's (Minn.) edged Ramon by a half second to claim second place.
Freshman Peter Kosgei of Hamilton College (New York), who entered with the 10th fastest time, won the event in 8:55.41.
Bartlett finished in a three-way tie for sixth place after clearing 11'10.5" in the women's pole vault, a new school record. Meghan Voiland of Augustana (Ill.) won the competition on her final attempt at 12'10.25".
The women's pole vault was re-scheduled from Thursday due to high winds.
