LOS ANGELES - LaShauna Porter was named SCIAC athlete of the week on Monday after her continued excellence this season.
The sophomore won all three of her events this past weekend at the third multi-dual meet of the season. Porter is now seeded second and third in the conference for the 200m and 100m races, respectively. She also now sits at fourth all time in Oxy history in the 200m with her time of 24.70 which is currently seeded sixth in the nation.
"LaShauna has been having a break through sophomore season and this award is very well deserved," Oxy head coach Rob Bartlett said. "She had an outstanding meet on Saturday winning 3 events and we look forward to watching her continue to improve in the coming weeks."
The Tigers went 4-0 at the meet and finished 6-2 in multi duals.
LaShauna will be competing at SCIAC's in less than two weeks on April 27-28.
