LOS ANGELESKasey Rose (Los Olivos) rattled off six consecutive services aces, all 14 Tigers saw the floor and the Occidental College women's volleyball team swept Caltech to extend it set winning-streak to nine in a row, 25-9, 25-12, 25-9.

Rose, who now leads the team with 24 aces on the season, served up six straight to take Oxy from a 9-3 to a 15-3 lead in Game 1. Then Rose, who also leads Oxy in service errors, drilled one into the net to end the nine-point Oxy rally.

Rose and Logan Boyer-Hayse (Boulder, Colo.) tied with a match-high 10 kills for Oxy (13-4, 6-3 SCIAC) and Boyer-Hayse hit .714 with no errors. Alyssa Mort (Tucson, Ariz.) chipped in seven.

Caltech's Elizabeth Beaver and Katie Ching led the Beavers (0-11, 0-8 SCIAC) with five kills apiece.

In the second and third sets, Oxy's bench got some reps. Megan Olayinka (Corvallis, Ore.) put away two kills in Game 2, and Hana Hunt (Newport Beach) and Emily Repsher (Sacramento) had three digs each in Game 3.

Oxy currently sits comfortably in fourth place in the SCIAC standings, two games ahead of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The Tigers can pull within one game of first-place La Verne (15-2, 8-1) with a win at ULV on Saturday at 6 p.m. In the first meeting between the Tigers and the Leopards at Rush Gymnasium on Sept. 29, Oxy took the first set but lost the next three.
