LOS ANGELES — Every week Oxy Volleyball Players compete in conditioning competitions and earn points on how well they complete each task at hand. At the end of the competition, Coach Heather Collins announces the winner who is the "Queen of the Court" for the week.

Sabrina Degnan was named the first "Queen of the Court" for the 2018 season on Aug. 28. The 5-foot-9 utility player that can play just about any position on the court, is a senior from Atascadero. She is coming off a year where she won Oxy's Defensive Player of the Year award and will be going into her second year as a team captain. During the 2017 season she played in 22 of the 25 matches, finishing second on the team in digs (251) and sixth in kills (69).

Sabrina is a psychology major and a double-sport athlete. She is also a member on the Women's track and Field team and is the school record holder in the javelin. She has also been named the Unsung Hero Award and the Charles W List Award.

The Tigers begin the season on Friday with a doubleheader at the Pacific Coast Classic hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Pomona-Pitzer and La Verne.
