Pre-College Honors: Led team to CIF-SS Div VI Championship in 2003 and 2004. CIF MVP 2003, 1st Team All-Cif 2004, First Team Mt.Baldy League-2003, Mt. Baldy League MVP-2004.  Rowland HS Hall of Fame-2004, Rowland School Records for Season and Career-Steals, and Season and Career Assists.  Helped CHAWP 18&U Girls Water Polo to Bronze Medal at 2004 USWP National Junior Olympics

Tiger Achievements: After an outstanding debut in 2005, Montenegro backed it up with an even more impressive sophomore season in 2006, earning the teams MVP award.  She's amassed over 100 goals scored in two season's and she's twice led the team in assists with her career total at 134 as she enters her junior year.  2006 also saw the awards continue to roll in as she earned a 1st Team All-SCIAC Honor, to go with the 2nd-Team award her first season.  Montenegro again earned a 1st Team All-Collegiate III player in 2006, and for the second consecutive season she was an NCAA Division III All American.  As she enters the 2007 Season Danielle has added the title of Co-Captain to her growing list of Oxy achievements.

Why Occidental?: "I chose Occidental because of my desire to attend a small college in Southern California.  I liked the fact that I could continue my water polo career while being at a college that put a premium on academics.  During my campus visit I was impressed by the friendly atmosphere and beautiful campus."
