Tigers Go 3-1 at Claremont Convergence

CLAREMONT — The Occidental women's water polo team split its final two games at the Claremont Convergence Tournament on Saturday, going 3-1 on the weekend.

Oxy beat Penn St. Behrend 13-2 and lost to St. Francis 10-8. The Tigers beat Mckendree and Caltech on Friday by a combined score of 40-15.

Carly Zurcher led the way, scoring seven goals on the day. She found the net four times against Penn St. Behrend and three times against St. Francis. 

Abby Appel scored five goals and Oxy goalkeeper Anna De Groot made nine saves on the day.

Season Impact: The Tigers have won three of their last four games, improving to 3-12 on the season.

Next Game: The Tigers play their first home game of the season against Grove City at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
